Interfaith of The Woodlands has named Coach Jim Rapp, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at The Woodlands High School, as one of its 2025 Hometown Heroes. This annual honor is awarded to individuals and organizations in The Woodlands who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the community.
Coach Rapp, along with five other honorees, will be celebrated at the 2025 Celebration of Excellence Gala on Feb. 28, hosted by Woodforest National Bank and chaired by Julie Lile and Jen McDonald. The honorary chairs are Mary Anne and Mark Whitney. The 2025 honorees include Cathy Brady, Jim Wendt, Nick Wolda, Truluckโs The Woodlands, and YES to YOUTH. Each will receive an official Hometown Hero Medallion for their contributions to making The Woodlands a welcoming and supportive community.
โThese Heroes have shown exceptional leadership and dedication to our community,โ said Missy Herndon, President & CEO of Interfaith. โWeโre thrilled to honor them at the Gala in February.โ
Established in 1999, the Hometown Heroes award celebrates those nominated by residents for their positive impact on The Woodlands. Since then, over 170 individuals have been honored for their service. Reflecting on the legacy of The Woodlands, honoree Cathy Brady emphasized the community-first vision instilled by founder George Mitchell. โThe Woodlands continues to be a welcoming place to live and work,โ she said. โThe residentsโ influence since 1994 is something worth protecting and preserving.โ
